If you are interested in receiving email updates about the ongoing racial reconciliation work of CSUMC, please send a blank email to this address.
Funding for initiatives like this and the work that comes out of the Study Circles is welcomed. You can financially support the racial reconciliation work of Congress Street by clicking here and selecting the "Racial Reconciliation" fund when prompted.
We are the congregation most notable in the Lafayette (Indiana) area for our Great Pumpkin Patch that takes place in October. Click on the brochure cover to the right for the 2014 Welcome Brochure.
Please be sure to check out our online calendar to see what's happening beyond 10:15am Sunday morning Worship. The calendar contains a lot more than you may think - it includes events outside the immediate congregation; as well as contact information for groups and detailed information for events.
Dear Future Guest,
Welcome to the ever-developing and evolving website of Congress St. Church. While this website may lack some things, it's a creation in progress and there is quite a bit of information available as you peruse our pages. For whatever reason you are reading this, it is my hope as the current pastor of Congress Street Church you will find your journey to wholeness through our faith community. While residing within the United Methodist tradition and in being true to that tradition, we welcome and honor your own experience, history, and affirm your ability to reason with your God-given brain. You may have many questions and you may want specific answers. If you come to the Table of Congress St. UMC you can be assured you will be welcomed and loved, but you may not receive all the answers to your questions; or the answers you want to hear. This is because an authentic life lived in genuine faith doesn't guarantee answers. All that gather at Congress St. for worship or other events are journeyers. Each of us is on a journey and for the moment we have found one another to aid us on our journey.
I invite you to share your journey with us...we have much to learn from you!
Peace on your journey,
Rev. Clarinda E. Crawford, Pastor
